Tell us about the journey that led you to IT:

After I received my undergraduate degree in 1980 I came to Kearney State to work on an Art Education Masters.  I didn’t finish the Masters Degree in Art, but instead went to Iowa where I taught 1-12 Art for two years.  I then came back to UNK to get a masters degree in Instructional Technology.  While doing so I worked full time at the Calvin T. Ryan Library as a Circulation staff and then the Learning Materials Center.  I was promoted to Multimedia Technician in 1996 after finishing my Masters degree.  In 2001 I was transferred to ITS after the Learning Materials Center was dissolved.

If you could abolish one piece of modern technology, what would it be and why?

Facebook.  People spend too much time on it and don’t talk to each other.

Do you prefer Windows or Mac?  Why?

Windows.  I know both, like both but feel like there are more games on Windows.  Most likely not true.

Do you prefer white, dark or milk chocolate? Dark Chocolate, milk chocolate is too waxy.

What was your favorite TV show growing up? Star Trek and then later Star Trek Deep Space 9

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends? Draw/paint, watch movies and renovation shows.

What was (or is) your favorite video game? I wasted a lot of money on them all but mostly Galaga.

What is one professional or personal skill you wish you had that you don’t? Memorizing people’s names.  I have a horrible time remembering names.

What do you like on your pizza? Canadian Bacon and Mushrooms.
